Things to do
Whether summer, autumn, winter or spring, the small charming village of Sora offers picturesque landscapes with spectacular views and always a promise of a breathtaking sunset seen right from your dinner table at Die Bergbaude „Schöne Aussicht“
For those who would like to make more of a day or a weekend out of your visit to us, there are many walks offered in the area. From small walks to longer ones there is something for everyone from the young to the young at heart! A quick stroll into the quaint village of Sora or a longer looped route taking you through forest and farmland until returning back to stop just in time for dinner back at the „Schöne Aussicht“ will take a little over one hour. Or if you are wondering what to do on the wintery days, try the walk through the surrounding enchanting forests which seem almost magical on cold snowy days.
A short walk up the hill will bring you to a viewing platform at 460 metres, where you can look down from an almost birds eye view of the 1000 year old Alstadt, Bautzen.
Come and enjoy a relaxing stay away from the big cities, close to many bike paths whilst dining eating the finest wild meat, shot humanely by the very chef himself!
Only 10km’s from Bautzen. Enjoy a few days seeing some of the highlights of this 1,000 year old town.
Bautzen, the town with 2 languages, 8 museums, 17 towers, 20 types of mustard, 80 downtown pubs, over 200 dinosaurs and more than 1,000 years of history.
Come and experience the romantic streets and attractions of the medieval city and enjoy Bautzen in all the seasons. In the heart of Oberlausitz, Bautzen provides a starting point in the Oberlausitzer Bergland and in the biosphere reserve heath Teichlandschaft many opportunities for an eventful holiday - and when will we be welcoming you to Bautzen?!
Enjoy day trips to Görlitz, Zittau or Dresden, which is just 50km away. The stunning city that was reduced to rubble in WWII and after decades of stagnation under communist rule, the city has risen like a Phoenix out of the ashes and today boasts a vibrant cultural and entertainment scene. Most of its wonderful architectural landmarks - many associated with the city's long history as the royal residence of the Saxon Kings - have been returned to their former glory, allowing Dresden to reclaim its title as the "Jewel Box," a name bestowed upon it due to its beautiful Rococo and Baroque city center.
